General Contest - Entry #3: Cool Guy

I needed some R&R so I took a quick trip to my favorite resort spot in all of Eorzea: Costa del Sol!



Even though the beaches of Bloodshore beckoned, I did not come dressed to swim and instead planned on spending the day enjoying the splendid boardwalk, garnering the attention of the locals as I did so.



“Hmmm, I guess I’ll head over that way.”



“The sunshine feels sooo good.”



“Just gotta love this scenery.”



And of course any cool guy knows that you have to stick around for the obligatory “shades at night” pic.

This is my 2nd entry into the fray, and I couldn't have done it without Ori's help. The idea was a bit mine and a bit hers, but her artistic skills really made it all fall into place.

DAWN OF EORZEA

Stories about different worlds slip easily around here…there's always adventure…



And the ensuing combat which must be dealt with…



This is the somewhat short story of Mina Hakuba and Soma Cruz…



Soma, is of course, the carrier of the soul of Dracula, and a fairly strong force to be reckoned with…



Mina, is a princess of a local shrine and his girlfriend.

These days, Soma normally takes her with him on his adventures…it's easier to bring the kidnap victim to the rescue than have to rescue the kidnap victim.



But for this trip, something will be very different for young Mina…Soma wants her to venture ahead alone, so that she can sharpen her skills as a priestess and lose the skills she's acquired as a kidnap victim.



Of course, he'll be close by should something happen…he doesn't want to be too far. The last time Mina's life was truly threatened, he gave in to his demons and became Dracula…Eorzea doesn't need another foe.



Of course, with this being the world it is…Mina is promptly attacked before her true training can start…



She manages to fell the creature (hey now, this story isn't that short) and proceeds to make her way to the entrance of her proving grounds.



Taking a deep breath to gather herself…she goes in…



I won't say whether she won or lost the fights ahead, somethings must be left to the imagination (or a sequel to this for the next contest)…but if these pictures below exist, then some good must've come of her work…

Life is like a Design Hurricane

(If you don't get the pun from this title, I don't want to have anything else to do with you people.)

Everything, no matter how small, starts from a spark. Even just a quick aside can take someone into a whole new world of possibilities.

Such is the tale that was spawned from this:



Most of you know that Illis Axelay has some deep ties with eccentric fashion designer Fay Mcklein. She's met with him…



and adventured with him many times.



He's even helped her remodel her room at the FC's house…(forgive the quality of this picture, such is the trouble with intercepting trans-dimensional imagery)



He's even introduced her to her current boyfriend…


But this isn't so much a story of their old adventures as it is a new tale (hah, I didn't type tail yet!) of the duo.

You can't just call someone a Design Hurricane and expect them to take it lightly…that's a hell of a responsibility. Mcklein knew this, so he decided to finally put Illis to work…as his plucky, young sidekick.



His plan was simple…going from house to house, searching out the most fashionable homes…



The judging of these fine homes could take well into the wee hours…







While this was no problem for his sidekick…even the most energetic designer must rest his body and mind…



But how did the dynamic duo of decorating score this domicile? See for yourself!

That game is childhood trauma for me.
My older cousin used to lock me up in the basement whenever Jason showed up on screen (would just toss me the controller and take off). One time, he teamed up with his sister (she was playing and I thought it was just the two of us) –- and he hid under the stairs with his hockey mask on and grabbed at my legs as I ran for the door. I was like… 5 at the time? Told me Jason was killing little kids like me (you had a "children" counter in the game). My cousins are great.

I CAN STILL HEAR THE MUSIC IN ALL ITS 8 BIT GLORY.
